The Nashville Boot Scooters have a place to play and now they have filled their rosters of players that will roll into action for the teams’ inaugural X-treme Scooter Quidditch League (XSQL) season which begins in less than two weeks.
“I think we have some of the best mixture of quidditch players and scooter riders for our team,” said Head Coach Kevin Henning. “This is an entirely new sport which will call upon some radical skills to be successful on the field.”
The Boot Scooters has narrow down the field from over 200 players to their final roster of 25 players.
The game features seven players on the field consisting of three chasers, two beaters, the keeper and the seeker. Teams are also allowed to carry utility players on their roster who can play in any position or fill in for injured players.
Here is the roster of players by positions:
- Jayke Archibald
- Augustine Monroe
- Tyler Trudeau
- Andrew Axtell
- Julia Baer
- Justin Cole
- Kaci Erwin
- Samuel Haimowitz
- Rachel Heald
- Quincy Hildreth
- Luke Langlinais
- Lindsay Marella
- Nicholas Marino
- Mercedes Natali
- Simón Van der veen Quant Arends Jr.
- Bailee Fields
- Max Havlin
- Jackson Johnson
- Hallie Pace
- Vicky Sanford
- Cole Travis
- Tyler Walker
- Lulu Xu
- Joshua Andrews
- Harry Greenhouse
Archibald and Cole were teammates with the Boston Night Riders of the Major League Quidditch (MLQ) where they won the league title. They also played on the United States National Team along with Trudeau and Fields. The two utility players, Andrews and Greenhouse, are local players who survived the open try-outs to secure spots on the roster.
The front office has been working hard to finalize sponsors and ticket requests in preparation for the season.
“We are getting more interest the closer it gets to the first game,” said Team Manager Ryan Cooper. “We are competing with high school, college and the Predators so it is going to be a challenge to stay in the conversation.”
Justin Cole thinks there is room for his team in Music City.
“Have you seen the scooters out there? This game is going to be their sport and I know they are excited about it.”
The Boot Scooters will open the season on September 26th against the San Francisco Muggles. The team will play seven home and seven away games.
